Top 5 Enemies-to-Lovers

The Top Five Series

This Top 5 series is a weekly meme created by Amanda @ Devouring Books.

Each week we’ll 5 book featuring the common theme provided. These can be books that we’ve read, or ones that are still on our TBRs. I’ll note beside each one if I’ve read the book yet or not, and provide a link to my review if I have one.

I guess this post probably counts as spoilers for some of the books listed. I’ll not point out which characters get together, but if you’re a strict no-spoilers reader, maybe avoid this post?

Feel free to share your own favourites or give me more TBR suggestions in the comments.

Top 5 OwnVoices Books

The Top Five Series

This Top 5 series is a weekly meme created by Amanda @ Devouring Books.

Each week we’ll 5 book featuring the common theme provided. These can be books that we’ve read, or ones that are still on our TBRs. I’ll note beside each one if I’ve read the book yet or not, and provide a link to my review if I have one.

OwnVoices can be a little bit tricky. A marginalised character doesn’t mean a marginalised author (or matching marginalisations) and, at the same time, no-one should be interrogating authors about how they identify or forcing authors to come out. Because of this, I don’t track ownvoices too closely anymore. To the best of my knowledge and as far I’ve been able to check, these 5 books are ownvoices, but if I’m wrong, please do correct me.

Hyped books are always pretty subjective, but here’s what I’ve come up with for this weeks prompt. These are five books I’ve really enjoyed that also have the highest Number of Ratings on my Goodreads shelves.

Officially, today’s Top Five Saturday topic is Books You’d Give a Second Chance, but I wasn’t really feeling that. Since I missed this topic a couple of weeks ago (I featured 10 Books by Black Authors instead), I decided it was a good opportunity to go back and squeeze these five in.

Putting this list together actually made me realise how few books I read by male authors. It’s really just a handful! I’d love any SFF recs from queer and/or BAME men.
