From Wyrd & Wonder:

“Short fiction deserves love too, and for this one we want you to give it some! Whether it’s novellas, novelettes, short stories, magazines or anthologies – what are some of your favourite bite-size tales?”

I mean… If you’re really determined, any book is a single sitting book, right?

Alright, alright! Here are 5 excellent books that come in less than 300 pages, so you can enjoy them in a single, lazy afternoon.

Kiki’s Delivery Service by Eiko Kadono

And, of course, check out the Ghibli film too!

The Witness for the Dead by Katherine Addison

A spin-off from The Goblin Emperor, but this one is shorter and stands on it’s own, with a murder investigation to solve.

The Bachelor’s Valet by Arden Powell

The Botanist’s Apprentice is another great choice and even shorter–only about 60 pages!

Where the Drowned Girls Go by Seanan McGuire

To be honest, I’d recommend any of the Wayward Children books and they’re all quick, short-ish reads. This is the latest one, but also one of my favourites.

Princess Floralinda and the Forty-Flight Tower by Tamsyn Muir

I listened to this on Audible, and it was a quick, laugh-out-loud read.
