I saw a book on twitter yesterday that had this awesome bone font and I just wanted it. I love a good font design on a cover.

These are fun fonts! I don’t think I really have a preference for what is on the cover of a book, but it all has to work well together. I guess that can be harder when the cover is just text—it has to do more work to convey the book’s tone than when the text is paired with images.

I love these fonts. I’ve got The Book of Gothel on by kindle and I really want Plain Bad Heroines and Ghost Wood Song. I have reasons other than the covers for wanting them, but the covers do nudge me a bit! Here’s my list:

Those are great covers. Some of them are creepy and some of them are intriguing. I mostly like covers with beautiful colors and typography. However, I can like one with characters on them as well. One thing, however, I love reading sci-fi, but I think most sci-fi covers are ugly.

I think sci-fi covers can end up being a bit generic. Maybe because its hard to depict the things in those stories?
