I am reading John Scalzi’s Kaiju Preservation Society which is my first of his right now! And Chuck Wendig has crossed my radar a few times.
This is my list of new authors I am excited to read soon!

Kaiju Preservation looks interesting too! If I like Redshirts, that’ll go on my list next XD

I just finished John Scalzi’s Kaiju Preservation Society, which was an absolute blast. So much fun! It’s short, too—that might be a good place to start with his work. I do think you’d like Redshirts, though, since you’re a Star Trek fan. (Plus if you like audiobooks, Wil Wheaton does a good job with those.)
I’ve read some Patricia McKillip, but I want to read more. It’s been so long since I’ve read her work that I’m not even sure what to recommend to people who want to try her work… or even where to re-start, myself.

Kaiju Preservation Society looks like it’ll be interesting too. I didn’t realise it was on the short side! I’ve already got the Redshirts audiobook so I’ll try that first and then Kaiju Preservation Society can go on the list XD

That’s the order I read them in. 😉 (Though you may or may not want to include the “codas” at the end of Redshirts. I got bored with those and decided to skip them.)

I finally picked up Gong’s book earlier this year and really liked it! I hope you enjoy all of these authors/books whenever you get around to reading them 🙂

I would also love to read Lois McMaster Bujold. She’s not on my list because I could name 50 authors, lol. But, one of my good friends has recommended her to me and I’ve just never gotten around to her books yet.

Dorothy Whipple and Patricia McKillip are both authors I’d like to read more from as well. I think I read one book by Patricia McKillip years ago, but I don’t even remember which one it was.

I started These Violent Delights but couldn’t get into it, I’m hoping to try it again at some point, because it sounded really cool, it just wasn’t great timing when I tried to read it the first time.

McKillip died earlier this month (May). I highly recommend her works.
