The Questions:

Reading on the couch or on the bed?

Bed at night, couch during the day. Also, likely to be Kindle in bed, physical copy on the couch. No idea why. I’m picky, and that’s one of the reasons I usually have a least a few different books/ formats on the go.

Sweet or salty snacks while reading?

Sweet probably, although I’m more likely to be eating a meal while reading than just snacking.

Trilogies or quartets?

Quartets. I can’t actually think of any I’ve read recently (let me know an good ones!), but I remember how Tamora Pierce’s book always used to come in quartets and there’s just some lingering childhood nostalgia there, I guess.

First person or third person POV?

No preference.

Night or morning reader?

Night. Sometimes into the morning, especially when a bout of insomnia hits (good for reading stats, awful for everything else). In the mornings, I’m much more of a roll out of bed, function on autopilot until type.

Libraries or bookstores?

I adore bookshops, but if I could only have one, I’d pick libraries. I’m a bit weird and when I go visit new towns or places — even if I can’t actually use the library — I love to nip in and see how they lay things and what sort of style they’ve got. Am I the only one?

Books that make you laugh or cry?

Both. Even better if it’s in a single book

Black or white covers?

Aesthetically, I’ve got to go with black, no question. More practically, I might say white, as I’ve noticed black is more likely to show dings and fingerprints.

Character driven or plot driven?

Again, I’ll happy read either, and the best is probably somewhere in between, but I think I’d rather reading compelling characters in a mundane plot than the other way around.
