Top Ten Recent Great Reads I Didn’t Review #2

I did this as a ‘I don’t like this week’s prompt’ TTT a few months ago, and I think it worked really well. I only really have time (and energy) to properly review a book a week, so there are loads of great ones I don’t feel like I rave about enough. I think I’m going to do a post like this every few months, just to highlight the great books I’m reading.

These are some of the books I’ve read in the past couple of months that were four/five star reads for me.

Do you review every book you read? Every one you enjoy? What’s your system?

Howl’s Moving Castle (Howl’s Moving Castle, #1) by Diana Wynne Jones

A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking by T Kingfisher

Arsenic for Tea (Wells & Wong, #2) by Robin Stevens

The Councillor (The Councillor, #1) by EJ Beaton

Princess Floralinda and the Forty-Flight Tower by Tamsyn Muir

Unequal Affections: A Pride and Prejudice Retelling by Lara Ormiston

Malice by Heather Walter

Something to Talk About by Meryl Wilsner

The Last Sun (The Tarot Sequence, #1) by KD Edwards

The Final Tap (Living History Museum, #2) by Amanda Flower

  1. I’ve got Malice, Defensive Guide to Baking and Howl’s on my TBR and I can’t wait to read all three of them. They look so good and I’m glad to hear you enjoyed them so much 😃 I try to read every book I read, even those that I don’t like (I always find those reviews *so* much easier to write LOL) but I haven’t been great with keeping up lately. I used to feel guilty for leaving short (1 paragraph) reviews but now I’ve become okay with it! Great post 🙂

  2. I love this topic! I only review one book a week right now, mostly because I don’t want to get overwhelmed. I’ve thought about doing a weekly or monthly look at all the books I read, with mini reviews, but I’m pretty new at this and I don’t want to get burnt out. I’m keeping this topic bookmarked, though, for a week that I also don’t love the topic. This is great. 🙂

  3. I TRY to review every book I read, but I’m always behind, no matter what. In the past, I’ve post 2-3 reviews a day in December so that I can finish reviewing all of that year’s books before the new year comes. Last year, though? I just didn’t review the books that I hadn’t gotten to and, you know what? The world didn’t end! So, that’s what I’m going to do from here on out instead of stressing out like I usually do 🙂

    Happy TTT!

    1. Same Susan! At one point I was posting daily and still never felt like I was on top of thing or happy with how I was doing. Cutting back has made me feel much more balanced.
