June 25: Books On My Summer 2019 TBR
If you haven’t checked it out yet, a big part of my reading next month is going to be the #IronTomeAThon, and I posted a full TBR for it yesterday here. Aside from that, I want to to the NEWTs readathon in August, but here’s some ideas I’m thinking of for a general summer TBR.
#ADayAMonth readalong for July – August
Chimes at Midnight (October Daye #7) by Seanan McGuire
The Winter Long (October Daye #8) by Seanan McGuire
A Red-Rose Chain (October Daye #9) by Seanan McGuire
Some new releases I’m excited about
The Babysitters Coven by Kate Williams
House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
The Deathless Girls by Kiran Millwood Hargrave
And then I’ll be working on a couple of readathons: Cornerfolds Retelling Bingo, The Iron Throne Readalong & the NEWTs.
I can’t wait for Wilder Girls!!! sounds AMAZING 😍

I just learned about Wilder Girls today 😅 It sounds awesome! Like a female Lord of the Flies, as someone else put it, haha! I absolutely fell in LOVE with House of Salt and Sorrows – probably my most recommended novel of 2019 (so far!!!) along with Aurora Rising! Happy reading! 📚💖

I love the cover for Gideon and will read anything McGuire writes – although I’ve not read that series at all. I just discovered The Deathless Girls and already am foaming at the mouth for it 🙂

Looks like a bunch of interesting new releases. On my TTT list I mostly went for books I’ve owned for a while. Good luck on your tbr!

I absolutely want to read the Toby Daye series at some point! It probably won’t be this year but it’ll definitely be one of my UF series for next.
I hope you enjoy them!

Hallo Hallo Louise,
You’ve already visited with me (smiles) so you know I decided to focus on talking about #MyYASummer – I’ll be mentioning #ADayeAMonth RAL when I release my TBR for #IronTomeAthon; however, as I *need!* some downtime today from laundering + cleaning the flat after that plumbing nightmare – I’m trying to do a few things — signed on (officially!) for the C/C Fiction readathon and now attempting to visit some of my favourite bloggers for TTT whilst I work on my final loads of the night! *whew!* What a long, long day…. best news? I finally was able to get clean myself due to all the chaos of the last 3x days! Aye.
What’s NEWTs readathon?
I know I’m planning to read at least 2x Austen novels, several re-tellings/sequels and finally finishing the first Jane Austen Mystery I started ages ago! I also want to finish Jane Eyre + 3x after canons as I never had the chance to focus on them during September – as I originally started to read Eyre during a readathon called “#SeptembEyre (I think, spelt?)… that’s a bit further afield!
PS: If I can read October Daye x3 by mid-July, I might be able to read the 5th before 1st August! That will bring me wayy closer to being current with everyone!!

The NEWTS are a Harry Potter exams themed readathon 😊 You pick subjects and grades to aim for! I did it last year and it was such fun! This year there’s correlating career goals too. If you’re interested in looking into it, you can probably still find last year’s annoucement video on YouTube (BookRoast is the organiser). 😊

Since I’ve barely had time to breathe much less sit – I’m going to look into this NEWTs over the weekend and see if I can draw together a game plan. I’m considering the Medieval thing too and I still need to round out my #IronTomeAThon post to go live on the 30th/1st. Ooh and due to the chaotic nature of my week (its been growing dearly worse each day; #dontask) I haven’t even had the pleasure of picking up Toby til tonight! Oyyyyy.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I appreciate it!!

Good luck with your readathons! I love taking part so will have to check out the ones you’ve mentioned, especially the Iron Throne one as that sounds like it involves fantasy 😀
