Beyond Books and Spooky Cross-Stitch

I’ve decided to try something new in my Monday posts. which I’ll be calling — as you can see — Beyond Books.

Basically, I wanted somewhere I could talk about all the things that I’m doing during the week or month which aren’t directly related to reading — for things other than book reviews, tags, memes etc. I thought this would give me the chance to share some of the other things I’m passionate about. Hopefully it’ll let me get to know you guys a little bit more and give us something a bit different to talk about.

Typically, some of these things I have in mind are still going to involve books — at least a little. I’m probably going to use this spot to write about TV shows I’ve enjoyed (and there’s definitely some adaptions I want to talk about), crafts that I’ve been trying out and maybe share day trips or anything else that tickles my fancy.

This week, I just wanted to let you know what my plans are, share this idea with you, and perhaps find out what you thought of it.

So here’s a few things I got up to on Halloween (while getting into all my spooky reading).

I’ve not been interested in cross-stitch in over a year, but generally once I get back in the swing of something, I go all out before I lose interest again. This adorable little pattern caught my eye a while back and I’ve had the pattern stored in a folder since before I moved… I’ve changed the colours around some, but if you’d like to try it for youself, I think it might have come from DureneJCrossStitch but I can’t be 100% sure.

I also tried my hand at a spot of pumpkin carving and made a huge pumpkin pie.

  1. Aah I love the little bats! And I love the idea of doing posts on things other than books. Now I want to do a post on this awesome visual novel I played recently..

        1. I really wish I could knit. I love looking at wool and yarn, but I’ve had a few people trying to teach me, and it’s just not skill I have it all. I’m super jealous all you knitters! I I’d love to see what cross stitch pattern you pick out.
