“Ten Books That Have Been On Your Shelf (Or TBR) From Before You Started Blogging That You STILL Haven’t Read Yet” From The Broke and the Bookish.

It’s not that I don’t want to read them, looking back through my Goodreads ‘to read’ tag and I can’t believe how many I’d forgotten about. It’s just that I have a short attention span and newer shiny things catch my eye. I need a better system, or better self control.

For this list I chose the books that have been on my TBR list the longest and a couple that have been on it a good while and that I already own a copy of.Comments or recommendations about any of the books listed are greatly welcomed.

Long-term To Be Read List

The Tiger’s Wife by Téa Obreht
The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax (Mrs Pollifax #1) by Dorothy Gilman
The Spirit Lens (Collegia Magica #1) by Carol Berg
Royal Exile (Valisar Trilogy #1) by Fiona McIntosh

Prince of Thorns (The Broken Empire #1) by Mark Lawrence
The Twentieth Wife (Taj Mahal Trilogy #1) by Indu Sundaresan
Lilith by George MacDonald

Seraphina (Seraphina #1) by Rachel Hartman
Assassin’s Apprentice (Farseer Trilogy #1) by Robin Hobb
Mélusine (Doctrine of Labyrinths #1)by Sarah Monette

  1. Hi Ellis, ooow I think I might have a copy of The Tiger’s Wife somewhere! Forgot all about that one.

I found the same thing. I can’t believe I have so many awesome books just sitting there waiting to be read. I find, with the blog, people are more interested in current and future book reviews so I seem to just read them in order to keep the blog interesting.

Maybe I need a new challenge, one that helps clear some of my shelves.

    Happy Reading

    1. Yes, sometimes it’s harder to get excited about reading an older book, especially when just keeping up with new releases is a challenge.

  2. I haven’t read any of these, but Prince of Thorns and Seraphina are both on my TBR. I hope you get to read, and enjoy, some of these soon. Thanks for sharing, and for stopping by my TTT earlier. 🙂

    1. Thanks, I started it but only read a few pages because I just wasn’t in the right headspace. I’ll give it another go eventually 🙂
